The main takeaway is that there will be circumstances where the 3050ti is completely unusable where the 1660ti is still alright, and the other way round is much less likely. All the 3050's wins are cpu bound at frame rates that are still very playable on the 1660ti system which has a weaker cpu.

When tested with same CPU, 4800H RTX 2060 is improve in pretty much every game.
I am surprised in that location are few SKUs with last gen 4800H and 3050ti.

Well, if you have workloads that can really take advantage of the Ray Tracing them the 3050 Ti might still be the one to purchase. Some rendering and pattern software are starting to add together hardware (GPU-based) real-fourth dimension ray tracing support. But yes unless the 3050 Ti were cheap enough and my upkeep was really tight fifty-fifty then I'd opt to just scrounge up some extra bucks for a RTX 3060 or settle for an RTX 2060.

Some laptops are cheaper with the RTX 3050ti than the GTX 1660ti even though they have better CPUs. I judge that is the only time the RTX 3050 and RTX 3050ti are worth ownership.

Older 1660 ti models can be found for fairly cheap. My laptop which has a 9th gen i7 has been on this sub and laptopdeals for $850 meanwhile I haven't actually seen a 3050ti under $1000.

Which ones? You can observe a Gigabyte G5 with 95w 3060 for around 1100, or a Dell G15 with 125w 3060 for around 1250.

That'due south too bad. I was honestly expecting the 3050ti to surpass my 2060, but it seems that it can't fifty-fifty definitively beat out the 1660.

No x50 tier ever decidedly trounce the previous x60. 1650 was worse than 1060, 1050 was below 960 (desktop), and 950 was worse than 760. But the 1050 and 1050ti mobile were higher up the 960m, only because Pascal was a stunning efficient comeback.

This would've been a solid gpu if information technology had 6gb VRAM. So it's basically 1660ti functioning and launch cost, simply with DLSS. A decent improvement simply for the DLSS alone. Now it makes no sense.

6gb would crave 192bit bus, and that would be a unlike chip altogether and probable can't scale downward to 35w. That's why the 3060 desktop is 12gb, because it's either vi or 12. The 3050Ti could either be four or viii, but apparently eight would look stupid next to the 3060m which is limited to 6.
